We are a group of teens who are passionate about what we do.

We may be young but we are also ambitious, unique, excited, and have hope for this movement. 

The idea of HFTH was started by Polly Odotte in 2013 on instagram. The account was originally created to be an anonymous venting account until she came across other anonymous venting accounts that broke her heart. These accounts were depressing. Teens from all over the world blog about their daily struggle with issues such as suicidal thoughts, self-harm, depression, and eating disorders. As she scrolled down her timeline, post after post, Polly realized that something had to be done. Teens are crying out for help and they are hiding behind anonymous social media accounts. 

So Polly began to post inspiring messages and quotes. She gave advice to those struggling with issues. The account started to grow within weeks. Thousands of teens were following hope for the hurt and Polly recieved hundreds of personal messages from followers just venting and thanking her for inspiring them. That's when she knew she had to take "hope for the hurt" to the next level. She filmed a promo video with her friends, built an official team, and launched www.hopeforthehurtmovement.com. Her goal is to continue to spread hope to the world and encourage others to do the same.
